XEPN Radio was across the border from Eagle Pass. W. Lee O'Daniel, of Lightcrust Doughboy fame, had started his own flour company and was advertising Hill Billy Flour with eight programs a day on this powerful station. XEPN claimed to be the most powerful station in the world at that time. Sam E. Nichols of XEPN wrote a song about Bonnie & Clyde. For years, the verses to this song, written by 1930's XEPN Eagle Pass Radio Personality, Cowboy Sam, have been in the possession of the Hamer family. Harrison F. Hamer has been kind enough to share it with the visitors of the Hideout. Thanks, Harrison! |
