HENDERSON JORDAN

On Friday the 13th in 1958, former Sheriff Henderson Jordan 62 of Arcadia, La.,
was traveling west in the eastbound lane on Highway 80, near Ruston, when he hit
a car head on and was killed instantly. In the other car was 31 year old Buford Caldwell
of Shreveport, LA. Buford died an hour later at the hospital. Ronald Webb Fullilove, a 10
year old, was in a third car involved. He died an hour later. Several others were injured.
Prentiss Oakley had become Sheriff in 1940 when Jordan didn't seek a third term.
